Most people have heard of the Ten Commandments, God's basic instructions for our lives that, when followed, help us live in freedom every day. These core principles are designed to equip and guide us through life, keeping us on the right path, and helping us navigate through the tough times. During the autumn from September - November 2010, J.John is encouraging church leaders to teach the Ten Commandments on ten Sundays, while encouraging the 'flock' to invite the 'fringe', as the series is geared not just to the churched, but also to the unchurched. So invite your friends to join us in the Cathedral as we teach the 10 commandments from 12th September onwards. Other local churches will be following the Just 10 course so conversations can take place in the community about God's Word. The Home Groups will also be following the same theme so if you've never joined a group please speak to Bill and Karen Welsh (Home Group co-ordinators) or the staff about joining one. J.John describes his hope for Just 10 in this way: "Not only will lives be realigned with God's desire to see us live our lives to the full, just 10 will also open up opportunities for thousands of people who do not have a relationship with God, to be invited to hear these life-changing principles. Something this size would have to be a God idea!" |
