We celebrated our 350th anniversary as a Cathedral in 2012 and after six months out of the building for the completion of major renovations and reordering, the Cathedral reopening service took place on 2nd December 2012.
It is our desire to use our resources of buildings, people and gifts to build a great community so that we can build a great Church!
Our doors are open for the people who love Jesus to go out into the community, to share His peace and love and to invite people in to worship and to commit their lives to his service.
As we pray for the peace and prosperity of our city, we have purposefully sought to share the message of Christ and to connect in new and meaningful ways with those who live and work in the city of Lisburn.
It is our goal to build on the church’s strengths and seek to extend our work with the growing number of young adults and families choosing to move into Lisburn and the surrounding areas.
We provide opportunities for people to meet, share together and offer contemporary worship and Christian teaching.
We aim to create a community of believers that is open and welcoming to those wanting to know more about Jesus.
We want to build a great community to build a great church to honour Jesus as Lord!
We want to be able to sustain our current work but also be able to build on that. We would like to:
• Invest more in kids and youth ministry
• Invest more in ministry and outreach in Hillhall
• Invest more in outreach in the City Centre
• Continue to maintain our buildings
An extra £10 extra per month will allow us to sustain what we already have and an extra £20 per month will allow us as a church to invest in future programmes and outreach.
So if 200 people in the congregation gave an extra £10 per month that would be £24,000 per year. An extra £20 per month and that’s £48,000 per year meaning we can invest financially as well as spirtually in continuing to build a great community to build a great church to honour Jesus as Lord!
WAYS TO GIVE
If you feel you have the means to increase your monthly offerings then please consider this. If you are not in that position, don’t worry, there are loads of other ways you can get involved.
1. Monthly Giving by Standing order
Regular donations by standing order allow us to plan for the future. We have included a standing order form with this booklet, which has an optional Gift Aid Declaration, that will allow us to claim a further 25% if you are a taxpayer.
If you want to increase your monthly giving you can arrange this directly with your bank or fill in the form. Completed forms can be placed in the collection plate or given to Pam (the Treasurer).
2. Legacy Giving
We have a legacy option which allows you to make a one off donation and this can go towards a wide variety of things within the church. Just ask Pam or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
3. Other Ways to Give
There are lots of ways to get involved and we are always on the look out for volunteers. Please contact email@example.com to find out more
