Dean Sam Wright

Sam enjoys watching football and takes an interest in sport. He likes to go to the movies, theatre and concerts. His wife Paula, and now grown up children and his grandchildren are the people he loves being with most, so family occasions, home comings, and holidays are precious times for them to share together.

He came to know Christ in a personal way as a teenager through Scripture Union camps.  Ballyholme Parish, Bangor is where he grew up and he has been involved with the Church Mission Society for the past 40 years. He previously served in inner city Belfast and in two rural parishes near Enniskillen and became Rector of the Cathedral in February 1999.

He is passionate about offering relevant teaching and worship, and he is deeply engaged with our parish mission link in the Diocese of Yei in South Sudan.

You can email Sam. His day off is Monday.

Rev Danielle McCullagh

Danielle grew up in Glengormley and is the youngest of 5 siblings. Before training for ordained ministry, she studied at Northumbria University for a degree in Childhood Studies and Professional Practice Studies. Danielle then worked as a 1 to 1 Special Needs Classroom Assistant in a primary school.

Danielle was brought up in the Church and at 14 made a commitment to Jesus. She loves strong biblical teaching and seeing the people of God being released to exercise their gifts within the body of Christ. She enjoys investing in relationships and seeing people grow in faith.

Spending time with family and friends is important to Danielle. She also loves cooking and eating good food. When she gets the chance, she loves to go Ballroom dancing.

You can email Danielle here. Her day off is a Monday

Garvin has attended the Cathedral since the early 1970’s, he went to Sunday School and Youth Fellowship here. He is married to Frances, and they have 2 daughters, Aimee and Chloe. He has served as Parish Administrator since 2010, and sees the role as a real opportunity to use his skills and experience for God’s glory and the furthering of His kingdom.

Garvin is a recently commissioned lay reader, something he put off for a long time, he also enjoys walking, reading and cooking, and tinkles a bit on the banjo, and more importantly is not a Man U fan.

Stephen McLoughlin
(Worship Co-ordinator)

Stephen was born and bred in the shadows of the cathedral and is privileged to be serving God as part of the cathedral team. Stephen loves music, of all styles, and especially in worship. He isn't interested in football in the slightest, and when Stephen isn't banging a piano or busied by his wife Judith or 3 daughters, he loves to laugh.

His favourite verse is “Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.” ‭‭(Eph ‭4:2)‬  His favourite quote is 'What day is it?" It's today," squeaked Piglet. My favourite day," said Pooh, and his favourite joke (at the moment) is 'last night me and my wife watched 3 DVDs back to back - luckily I was one facing the telly'!
